Sublette High Schools 2025 Salutatorian and Valedictorian Announced

High School Graduation will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 4:00 p.m.

Noah Friesen Named Sublette High School Salutatorian

Sublette High School is excited to announce Noah Friesen as this year’s Salutatorian. Noah has made his mark through strong academics, outstanding leadership, and a deep commitment to his school and community. Noah is President of the Multi-Leadership Organization (MLO) and the Sublette High School Choir. He is also Vice President of the National Honor Society and Sublette Sports Club (S-Club). One of his most significant contributions has been organizing the school’s community blood drives, where he also takes time to educate students about the importance of donating.

Noah is known for being incredibly smart, self-motivated, and hardworking. He’s a talented reader and writer; whatever he does, he does well. In addition to his high school coursework, he’s taken several college classes this year and excelled in them.

Outside the classroom, Noah has also been a standout athlete. Even after suffering a knee injury during football season that required surgery, he continued to show up for his teammates, attending practices and games and encouraging others from the sidelines. While he may be quiet, Noah's presence has made him a well-respected leader among his peers. He is also active in his church and guided by a strong personal faith, something that’s been evident in how he carries himself daily.

Noah plans to attend Wichita State University this fall and major in Environmental and Sustainable Engineering. Sublette High is proud of his accomplishments and cannot wait to see what the future holds for him!

Meet Destiny Russom: Sublette High School’s Valedictorian

This year's valedictorian, Destiny Russom, inspires her fellow students and the entire school community. Her remarkable achievements inside and outside the classroom have made her an exceptional young leader.

Destiny’s academic record speaks for itself. She has held a grade point average of 4.0 throughout her entire high school career. Destiny has demonstrated leadership skills as the President of the National Honor Society, the Vice President of the Student Council, and is actively involved in the Kansas Association for Youth and has served in many clubs and organizations.  She has excelled academically and inspired young students to engage in community service and uphold the values of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Her ability to motivate peers and organize events has significantly contributed to the positive culture within our school community.

Beyond her studies, Destiny has shown a commitment to helping others succeed. As a freshman, she began volunteering for the Sublette BEST after-school program and has mentored students for three years. In addition to working for the after-school program, she works part-time as a certified nurse's aide.

Destiny's dedication to learning doesn't stop at high school. Destiny has completed 26 hours concurrently through Seward County Community College.

Destiny plans to attend Dodge City Community College in the Fall of 2025 and will major in Elementary Education.

We are proud of Destiny for her dedication to our school community and wish her the best.
