Testing Information
The state of Kansas provides students the opportunity to take three ACT products for free while they are in High School.
The PreACT is given freshman year and is a predictor assessment for the ACT. This allows students the opportunity to see the areas in which they can focus their efforts and improve their ACT score. In addition, there is a career interest questionnaire the students take that provides feedback to the students as to which careers might be a good fit for their skills and interests.
The WorkKeys assessment can be given to juniors who are not interested in taking the ACT. These students may be more interested in finding a career that fits them right out of high school. This test focuses on workplace skills rather than academic based knowledge.
The ACT is an assessment that tests reading, English, math and science and is used for college placement and scholarships. Students may take the ACT as many times as they desire in an attempt to improve their score. The free test in high school is given their junior year.
For the 2023-2024 school year, these tests are scheduled for the following dates:
* PreACT - October 10, 2023
* ACT - February 27, 2024
* WorkKeys - February 28, 2024
