Title I Building and Parent Engagment Policy
Sublette Elementary Parent and Family Engagement Policy
2026-2027
Sublette Elementary School believes that families are essential partners in student success. Our goal is to create meaningful opportunities for parents and families to stay informed, participate in their child’s education, and work with school staff to support student learning.
Annual Title I Family Night and Parental Involvement
- Sublette Elementary will host an Annual Parent and Family night. At this meeting parents will be informed of the school’s part in Title I, Part A, its services, requirements as well as parents rights to be involved.
- Parents will be involved in the planning, review and improvement of the school family and parent engagement policy.
Parents will:
- Learn about the curriculums used at Sublette Elementary as well as the assessments used to measure student progress as well as the achievement levels of the Kansas State Academic standards.
- Be able to request opportunities for regular meetings to gather suggestions and opportunities to participate in the decisions about the education of their students.
- Have the opportunity to share any comments or feedback related to the dissatisfaction of the Title I, Part A program plan.
Sublette Elementary will:
- Provide opportunities for the involvement of parents and to support a partnership among the school, parents, and the community to improve student academic achievement by:
- Providing help to parents in understanding the Kansas academic standards, the state and local assessments, the Title I, Part A parent engagement requirements and how to work with teachers to support students’ academic achievement.
- Provide support to help parents support their students such as literacy training.
- Educate teachers, support staff, principals, administrators and other staff in the value of parent contributions and how to effectively communicate and collaborate with parents as equal partners to build connections between parents and schools.
- Coordinate and connect parent involvement programs and activities with other federal, state, and local programs and conduct other activities that encourage and support parents in participating in their child's education.
- Ensure that the information about school and parent programs, meetings and other activities are sent to the families in a language and format all parents can understand.
Sublette Elementary is committed to creating a caring environment where all students can learn. Please feel free to reach out with any questions, ideas or suggestions. We look forward to working with you this year!
